Michelle Gloeckler is executive vice president of the consumables and health and wellness divisions and U.S. manufacturing lead for Walmart U.S. She leads business in areas of beauty and personal care, pets, household paper and chemicals, baby, OTC, pharmacy, clinics and optical, which represent a significant portion of Walmart U.S. sales. In addition, Gloeckler leads a team responsible for Walmart’s investment of $250 billion in products that support American jobs. Gloeckler was selected to lead the President’s Global Council of Women Leaders in 2015. Previously at Wal-Mart, Gloeckler was senior vice president of the home division, overseeing buying, branding, product development and collaboration across functions. Gloeckler joined the retailer in 2009 as the vice president of candy, seasonal food gifts and impulse items for Walmart U.S. She spent 21 years at The Hershey Company, working in the field and at the home office in vice president roles overseeing sales, marketing and category development for all of Hershey’s U.S. retailers and brands. She also served as general manager of The Hershey Experience, leading the direct-to-consumer business that included the Hershey’s Chocolate World visitors’ center, New York and Chicago flagship stores, web and catalog business, manufacturing and product licensing. Gloeckler serves on the LSA Dean’s Advisory Council for University of Michigan and the Advisory Board for NACDS. She served more than eight years as a NEW Board member, including her term as Board chair. Gloeckler also gives her time locally to boards for the American Heart Association, Susan B. Komen and the Walton Arts Center and served as a United Way board member in Pennsylvania. She has been recognized as a Top Woman in Grocery, Mass Merchandising and Shopper Marketing. She ranks number 38 on Fortune’s Most Powerful Women, published in October 2015. Gloeckler is a graduate of University of Michigan.
